Get Involved - Volunteer with JANJ



JA BizTown. Volunteer role models guide fifth and sixth grade students as they manage businesses and role play in various jobs: CEOs, CFOs, town mayor, healthcare technicians, retail store customer service reps, news reporters, bank tellers, and more. Time is 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.

JA Finance Park. Volunteers coach high school students through a hands-on household budgeting simulation activity. You’ll facilitate conversations, share your own experiences and advice, and encourage them to make wise financial choices. Time is 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.

JA Career Success Workshops. Volunteers prepare high school students for success in the workplace as they coach them through a series of hands-on activities that build soft skills: Critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity; and a mock job interview. Time is 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

JA Inspire. A high-energy career expo for 8th grade students that helps NJ build its workforce pipeline. Businesses and organizations set up interactive career stations and provide volunteers who engage students and help them visualize their future career. Expos take place from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Dates and locations: March 21 at The College of NJ; May 8 at Middlesex County College

HACK JA. Volunteers are needed to help mentor and coach high school students as they compete in a series of STEM-related challenges. Volunteers may sign up for 2 to 4 hour time slots beginning at 5pm on February 22nd to noon on February 23rd.

JA Women’s Future Leadership Forums. Women from all career stages and backgrounds mentor high school girls, help them create an elevator pitch and join them in a small group teambuilding activity. The program includes an executive leadership panel and networking lunch. Time is 8:45 am to 1:30 pm.
