Programs - Program Implementation
JA's comprehensive curriculum, developed in partnership with educators, reinforces and supplements NJ’s core curriculum standards from kindergarten through high school. JA’s programs are delivered by trained corporate and community volunteers who share their skills and personal and professional experiences to make learning come to life. Everything needed to teach the program is provided to our volunteers who bring the lessons to life through engaging hands-on activities.

JA Day
JA’s activity-based programs are delivered over the course of one school day (from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm) at a local elementary school taught by teams of two or more volunteers. This turnkey program is a powerful team-building experience as well as a memorable community service project.

JA in 2 Days
A JA In-2-Days takes place at a local elementary or middle school giving volunteers the opportunity to teach JA's financial literacy and workforce readiness curriculum in a condensed time frame but not as constrained as a JA Day. The programs are taught over of a block period for two separate school days usually from 9:00 am - 11:30 am. This program can also be a powerful team-building experience with minimal time taken from the classroom or from a volunteer's work schedule.

Traditional
Traditional JA programs take place at a local elementary, middle school, or high school giving volunteers the opportunity to teach JA for 6 - 12 class room sessions and can be scheduled at the discretion of the class room teacher and according to the volunteer's availability.

After School™
After-school programs can utilize a variety of JA's K-12 business and economic curricula to create rich, engaging experiences at the elementary, middle school, or high school level for 6 - 12 sessions during the hours of 3:30 pm - 5:45 pm. Volunteer led activities can be scheduled at the discretion of the after-school site coordinator and according to the volunteer's availability.

High School Heroes
The JANJ High School Heroes program gives high school students the opportunity to volunteer with Junior Achievement at a local elementary school in New Jersey. The program is a memorable community service project for the high school students who participate as volunteer role models. Programs are fun and easy to implement and all materials/lesson plans and training are provided by Junior Achievement.

College Heroes
The JA College Heroes Program is an opportunity for young adults to help make a difference in the lives of our youngsters. Volunteers can either participate in a JA Day project at a local elementary school team-teaching the five lesson plans from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm (with a lunch break) or visit the school over a period of time teaching the 30-40 minute lessons (this is usually done by teaching one lesson per week for five weeks).

A JA Job Shadow provides engaging, academically enriching, and experiential learning sessions in work-readiness education and career perspectives. It is a 3-session course, plus a Job Shadow site visit.
