Help Prepare Students for Careers of the Future

The world is changing faster than ever — and the students we serve are counting on leaders like you to help them navigate what’s next. Imagine a generation of youth equipped with the confidence, capability, and connections to pursue meaningful careers, make informed decisions, and build opportunity-filled futures.

As a Junior Achievement volunteer, you’ll work directly with students, delivering career-connected learning experiences that bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world. With support from our experienced staff and easy-to-use materials, you’ll guide students through hands-on activities that spark ambition, build economic mobility, and lay the foundation for lasting success. Together, we can ensure every young person in New Jersey has access to education for what’s next.

What Types of Volunteer Opportunities Does JA Offer?

We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups, making it easy to find an experience that aligns with your interests and schedule. Volunteers can support JA in several impactful ways:

  • Delivering JA programs in classrooms.
  • Mentoring student program events and simulation experiences at the JA Education Center.
  • Visiting JA classrooms to share more about your industry, career, and pathway.
  • Championing a volunteer day with your company to support JA students.
  • Engaging your organization’s employee/business resource groups.

Junior Achievement of New Jersey’s student volunteer opportunities are currently available to high school students participating in JA Future Ready Leaders (formerly High School Heroes) through their school.

Through JA Future Ready Leaders, high school students build leadership, communication, and presentation skills while helping bring JA learning experiences to younger students in their communities. The program is an ideal volunteer and leadership opportunity for student organizations and groups such as JROTC, FBLA, DECA, Future Educators, Key Club, business classes, and service-learning groups.

Interested in participating?
Students and families are encouraged to connect with their school administration, guidance counselor, or teacher to find out if their school participates in JA Future Ready Leaders or to express interest in bringing the program to their school.
